Social media are seen as a good platform to share your ideas with public at large these days. So, why not utilize this mod fashion for the Women’s Rights issues?
International Women’s Day 2015 is still something like two months to go, we hardly see any other women’s rights campaigns going on these days; so, you might be wondering what we are up to now. This time we are with a motive to connect all our friends in this social networking site to the same issue we have been connecting with, since many years and that too months before the International Women’s Day, March 8, 2015 because addressing issues just on their respective national and international days is only something we can call ‘celebration’ and not ‘cerebration’.
Hence, “I DARE YOU- SNAPSHOT CHALLENGE”, is what we are up to, now. It’s an open, photo uploading fun-cum-earnest challenge in Facebook relating to any women’s rights issues around you that you think should be considered enough to be addressed. With this, we can connect to all those issues in relation with women’s rights, respect and dignity across the globe with Facebook since nothing can go so quickly viral than the things and shares on social networking sites. The challenge shall begin just from the day you read this post and shall continue till March 8, 2015 “The International Women’s Day”. At the end of the challenge, we shall have come across a lot of important issues on women (maybe new and hidden ones too) that shall give us the idea what issue to address at our very events of the International Women’s Day in our respective schools, colleges, workplaces, domiciles or communities. And since it’s a challenge, the ones who accept it and does it in the best manner will be our final winners. Winners will be announced at the end of the challenge on March 8.
How to be part of it :
1. Upload your photo on your timeline with a slogan about your theme on any issues related to “WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND RESPECT” (write the slogans in papers/ chart papers in any simplest form convenient to you- you need not decorate it excessively; the slogan should be your original and not copied from elsewhere)
2. Make sure that the background where you click your photo is or resembles the same place of injustice/harassment you have chosen according to your theme. (Example streets, workplaces, public spots, domicile etc.)
3. Share the “I DARE YOU- SNAPSHOT CHALLENGE” uploaded photo of yours in People’s Health Movement Nepal Students’ Circle (PHM-NSC) public group page (you need to join the group firstly (www.facebook.com/groups/phmnepal.students/) since, this is the important part of the challenge to trace winners and finally,
4. Further nominate maximum of 10 friends on your friend list to accept this challenge below your own uploaded photo (make sure that the nominations are not repeated and the people you choose for your nomination by all odds accept your challenge).”
This is how you should do it:
